Here at Johnny Matcha, our mission can be summarized in three words: Acknowledge, Empathize, Love. We strive to employ these principles in how we do business and how we live life.
How We Acknowledge:
Johnny Matcha was founded on the idea that the general public should have access to real authentic matcha, not just what has been marketed as matcha. We noticed a massive discrepancy in what was being sold as “matcha” and knew we had to do something about it.
How We Empathize:
Matcha is nothing new and has been enjoyed for over 800 years in Japan. Since it’s gained global popularity, there has been an influx of subpar matcha, which not only lacks in flavor and color, but also could be harmful to the consumer. While one may be under the impression that all matcha is the same, unfortunately this is not the case. Similar to the quality difference in instant coffee versus craft coffee, one can pretty much make the same correlation here. We understand this and empathize with those who genuinely want to add healthy routines to their life. Our goal is to provide an honest product and transparent experience through thorough testing for heavy metals and harmful contaminants so that you can be sure of what you’re putting into your body. By operating in this way, empathy, honor, and respect are also shown to the farmers and their families who have spent hundreds of years in dedication to this amazing superfood.
How We Love:
We are obsessed with doing things the right way. This is why we’ve spent years perfecting our company model. We wanted to offer an experience, not just a product. From the farmers to the consumers, we want everyone who comes in contact with Johnny Matcha to feel loved and a part of the team. Some of the ways we do this are by thoroughly vetting every product that we put out, listening to any and all advice, and constantly improving. We make sure that every farmer is paid appropriately and strive for every customer to be treated like family.
